FAA Level 3 Award in Principles in Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults (Truro)

FAA Level 3 Award in Principles in Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults (Truro)

We cannot emphasise how important it is for volunteers to be aware of increasing scrutiny and changing legislation relating to Child and Adult Safety.

It is critical that our sector complies with the very highest standards and best practice. Volunteers need to know how to protect themselves whilst helping those in the local community with essential transport.

As this can be an emotive subject, if there is anything you would like to discuss with us before the course, please do so by calling 01872 266987.

What does this course entail?

This one-day course is designed to give people the skills, understanding and confidence to ensure the wellbeing of others, including the prevention of abuse and neglect. Safeguarding means protecting another person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. It is also concerned with making sure that those at risk do not get harmed, knowing what to do if anyone at work is worried about someone else, and ensuring that any allegations of abuse or suspicion are dealt with appropriately.

The level 3 qualification is regulated and accredited by the First Aid Awards (FAA) and learners will receive a certificate upon completion and assessment of the coursework.

Who would benefit from this course?

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and having an understanding of the issues and processes is essential for anyone, regardless of role or status as paid employee or volunteer. No formal qualifications are necessary but a reasonable standard of English will be expected.

This qualification is designed for learners who have contact with children, young people or adults in their community (including paid or voluntary work). It promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding, enabling learners to be able to identify issues and emphasises the responsibility to ensure that concerns are reported and acted on appropriately.

This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.
