Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering 2019

GroupShot CROP VolunteerCornwall2019

Our annual celebration of Cornwall's amazing volunteers took place at the Eden Project on Thursday 21st November before an audience of invited guests. After opening speeches from our Chief Executive and the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Col Edward Bolitho OBE, it was over to Daphne Skinnard from BBC Radio Cornwall to take us through the presentations.

Each winner received an inscribed glass bowl and certificate whilst those who were highly commended received glass paperweights and a certificate.

To introduce each category, we saw films of the winners from the previous year. These were often quite moving and each talked about the difference volunteering had made to their lives.

Following a closing speech by our Chair, Emma Rowse, there was a photo call for everyone receiving an award and then a 2 course buffet with delicious food provided by our hosts, The Eden Project.

Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering will be back in 2020 but in the meantime, you can see the full list of winners below together with pictures of them receiving their awards. And if you were nominated this year, but not shortlisted, you will still receive a certificate of acknowledgement in the coming weeks.

Thanks to all of Cornwall's amazing volunteers - the county would be a darker place without you!
