Are you living with hip and knee pain?
Hope Programme for hip and knee pain – next course starts 14th January 2026
HOPE-MOVE will support 2,000 people living with osteoarthritis and chronic pain in hip or knee on waitlist for community musculoskeletal services or surgery to stay active, eat well and manage their mental health. Building on our earlier Hopes project, HOPE-MOVE has now expanded support to people living with osteoarthritis and chronic pain.
The Hope Programme for hip or knee pain is for anyone waiting for assessment, treatment or surgery. Topics include movement quality and strengthening; coping with pain, managing fatigue, getting better sleep and focussing on what matters to the person.
There are 8 sessions, which can be completed at a time which is convenient. To access the course a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone is needed. The course is not delivered in a way for people to be on “at the same time”. Like a website, the materials can be worked through each week, at a time that suits the individual. Some people do chunks of 20mins some people do more or less whenever they can find the time.
People can choose to join a group facilitated course if they like to learn with and meet others or a self-guided course if they prefer to learn on their own. The next course starts on Wednesday 14th January. There are 80 free places. Please find attached posters for distribution. Adults from across the South West can self-refer and book onto a course using the following link: BOOK HERE.
Truly amazing journey of self change/ life change with other people. The feeling of not being alone in my struggles made me feel empowered and gave me hope and understanding that we are allowed to fail and it’s normal. It changed my life for better."
- Arushi, living with fibromyalgia
