We cannot emphasise how important it is for both staff and volunteers to be aware of increasing scrutiny and changing legislation relating to Child and Adult Safety.
It is critical that our sector complies with the very highest standards and best practice. Volunteers need to know how to protect themselves whilst helping those in the local community with essential transport.
As this can be an emotive subject, if there is anything you would like to discuss with us before the course, please do so by calling 01872 266987.
What does this course entail?
This one-day course is designed to give people the skills, understanding and confidence to ensure the wellbeing of others, including the prevention of abuse and neglect. Safeguarding means protecting another person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. This qualification is designed for learners who have contact with children, young people or adults in their community (including paid or voluntary work). It promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding, enabling learners to be able to identify issues and emphasises the responsibility to ensure that concerns are reported and acted on appropriately.
